"Galilean Nights in Modena"

Piazza Grande - Modena (Mo) - Italy
In conjunction with the International Year of Astronomy (IYA 2009) and the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei’s first discoveries, in the main square of Modena “piazza Grande”, will take place two public night sky-telescopic observations. Specifically, Dr Pierluigi Giacobazzi, Giacomo Giorgianni and Luca Malavolta, will show and explain to the people some of the most beautiful celestial objects, such as: the Moon, Jupiter and the Galilean moons. Over each nights, web connections with other cities involved in this world event, are planned.
In case of bad weather conditions, the night sky observations will be carry out into the Civic Planetarium of Modena “F. Martino”.
